The role of Senior Community Nurse/District Nurse with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust in Cheltenham involves leading and managing a team of nurses to enhance community care within the One Gloucestershire Integrated Care System. Candidates should have extensive community nursing experience and ideally be nearing completion of their Specialist Practitioner Qualification in District Nursing. The position requires excellent communication skills for holistic patient assessments, critical thinking for the triage process, and the ability to manage a defined caseload while delegating tasks to Band 5 nurses. Additionally, a full driving license and the use of a vehicle are necessary, along with a commitment to collaboration across various health services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for high-quality patient care delivery, professional leadership, and operational management of the Community Nursing Service. A background in electronic patient record systems is beneficial, but training will be provided. The ideal applicant should possess flexibility, resilience, and a compassionate approach to nursing, focusing on delivering the right care at the right time by the right professional.
