*EXCITING FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF OUR PAEDIATRIC ASSESSMENT UNIT*
Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our friendly assessment unit as a paediatric nurse.
This is an exciting time as we develop a strong nursing team to develop our paediatric assessment unit. We are looking for qualified paediatric nurses to ensure outstanding care is given to all children who attend the paediatric assessment unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
We offer a 6-month probationary period with two weeks supernumerary period (option to extend if needed), and a full trust induction inclusive of training specific to paediatrics. We encourage and support staff to maintain and enhance skills by offering programmes such as APLS and days catered towards the safe stabilisation of the critically ill child run alongside critical care operational delivery network. Other specific, enhanced programmes are encouraged.
We are always seeking ways to improve the standard of our learning environment and we do this through our close relationship with The University of Huddersfield supporting both pre and post graduate students. We encourage all staff members to complete the mentorship course offered to them.
In our last CQC report the trust scored overall a result of good, with services for Children and Young People scoring good in all domains. We are proud of this result and believe this is due to not only the high standard of care we provide for all our patients, but due to the close and supportive bond we have developed as a team. We are also the first CHKS accredited paediatric service in the UK.
Applications from experienced paediatric nurses welcomed. Flexible working hours are available and encouraged with this post. Rotation to the inpatient ward areas is also available.
About usWe are seeking individuals who are passionate about caring for babies, children and young people aged 0-16 years.
You will be required to be forward thinking and ambitious in your approach to care and be proactive to improve the hospital experience for patients and their families.
Within the trust you will have the opportunity to work alongside many specialities in paediatrics including inpatient services, emergency department, outpatients clinic, Childrens Community Nursing team, Paediatric Diabetes Team and the specialist nursing team.
