NHS WEEKEND
East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking two full-time Chief Cardiac Physiologists specializing in echocardiography to join their dedicated team at Ipswich Hospital. The role involves performing a variety of diagnostic tests such as adult transthoracic echocardiography, exercise echocardiography, and leading physiologist-led valve clinics. Successful candidates will operate mainly on weekdays, with some weekend overtime opportunities. The department is currently enhancing its facilities to expand its cardiac care services, including advanced PCI procedures and device implants.

Key responsibilities include independently conducting clinical procedures, interpreting data, and delivering results to medical professionals. The role also involves contributing to training and educational programs within the department and adhering to professional standards and legal guidelines. Candidates ideally should hold BSE level 2 accreditation in adult transthoracic echocardiography, though those without this certification may be considered for a progression role with support for obtaining the accreditation. Part-time options may also be available for suitable candidates.
