The Staff Nurse position at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust requires candidates to have experience in adult acute or urgent care, along with a comprehensive understanding of Acute Medicine. The role demands self-motivation and a commitment to improving patient care through safe and effective nursing practices. Responsibilities include conducting clinical observations, administering medications, handling direct patient care, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care is delivered across multiple specialties.

The Trust values the contributions of international nurses but currently cannot offer the necessary support for overseas applicants aiming for full NMC registration. As such, applications from nurses with only Part 1 NMC registration will not be accepted at this time. Successful candidates will also be expected to engage in mandatory training and properly escalate any patient concerns as part of their duty.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working within an adult acute or urgent care division, and possess knowledge and a range of skills that cover all aspects of Acute Medicine. They will need to show a willingness to learn and develop. They will need to be self-motivated with a desire to improve patient care through application of safe and effective nursing practice; planning, delivering and evaluating care in line with organisational procedures and the NMC code of conduct.

The Trust appreciates and values the contribution international nurses bring to the NHS. We also understand the support overseas nurses need to gain full registration once in the UK (via OSCE) and therefore we only recruit internationally to fill nursing vacancies when we can ensure support is in place. At this present time we aren't in a position to offer that support and therefore will not accept applications from overseas nurses who only have Part 1 NMC registration. If that position changes in future we will clearly advertise our opportunities for international nurses to join our nurse team here in Bolton. Thank you for your understanding.
