The role supports the urgent emergency care elements across the system in driving operational balance, shared risk, and guide transformation to improve performance and patient outcomes across the system.The role supports the business in driving transformation as well as value for money and equity in planning, commissioning, and service.This role will involve chairing system escalation calls, providing recommendations and gaining assurance over actions to mitigate operational pressure.Lead and support the development of the system coordination centre and you will bring experience and knowledge of aspect of operational resilience and system flow; ensuring all policies, procedures and escalations points are adhered to.Where the SCC lead has a clinical registration, they will ensure clinical oversight of the function and decision making.Specific tasks for the SCC Manager will include but not be limited to:Providing direction and line management to operational colleagues in the System Co-ordination Centre Team on a day-to-day basis.Attending and chairing necessary meetings, resourcing appropriately to support or lead project work.Providing appropriate reports and updates as required for both operational and transformational meetings, using a PMO approach for consistency.Developing and assisting in the delivery of activity dashboards to support existing and new opportunities.Assisting in the system winter/surge planning process.Supporting service reviews where necessary to ensure that the services delivered are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the population.Engendering matrix working across the team and with other teams within the system.Working across the portfolio to align workloads of the team and ensure key projects are prioritised.Effectively responding to system escalations in times of pressure.Managing and maintaining a risk register of operational system risks.Proactively horizon scan and plan with system partners areas of pressureProvide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, and present information, to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.The job description and person specification are an outline of the tasks, responsibilities and outcomes required of the role. The System Coordination Centre (SCC) Manager is responsible for leadership oversight, management, and delivery of the System Coordination Centre function in line with National requirements for BSW ICB and the BSW System.The SCC Manager takes responsibility for direct management of the SCC team accountable for day-to-day work, and development and integration of the System Coordination Centre into the BSW system.This role will be office based minimum of 3 days per week.
The role is designed to deliver a consistent operational resilience response using a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills. The manager must utilise national data sets to inform surveillance, decision making and risk management specifically, the System Coordination Centre will have systems and process in place to monitor and respond to the nationally agreed target metrics to support decision making.
