The department will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to develop in your role as an ophthalmic nurse within a dynamic team.

We are looking to recruit an enthusaiatic registered nurse with an interest in Ophthalmology to join our team in County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

We are currently responsible for provding specialist services on two sites Darlington Memorial and Bishop Aukland Hospital and a possibility that we will return UHND in the future

The department will offer the successful candidate an opportunity to develop your skills in the role of an ophthalmic theatre nurse learning all the specialst skills that go with this and the learning of using specialist equipment. The successful candidate must have excellent communciation skills, a high sence of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of team work. You will help formulate and carry out effective care for our patients and ensure it is delivered to the highest possible level.

There will be opportunities to gain experience in all areas of ophthalmology including eye clinic and injection lists.

This post will primarily be at Bishop Auckland Hospital but there will be times when you may have to work on the Darlington Memoral site.
