Job summaryCoventry and Warwickshire ICB are looking to recruit a dynamic innovative leader to join our digital and safety teams as our Digital Clinical Safety Officer. We are seeking applicants with a clinical background and interest/experience in using digital solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the health care services we can offer to our communities.
Key aspects of the role include
- Providing strategic and professional leadership on clinical safety for digital transformation projects.
- Working with key stakeholders and clinical professionals to ensure they are consulted in the design, delivery, and evaluation of digital transformation.
- Collaboratively supporting the development and delivery of a safe ICB Digital Transformation Strategy.
- Providing expert clinical advice and guidance to raise awareness and increase engagement amongst clinical staff and senior leadership within the system about the adoption and application of clinical safety in digital transformation projects.
- Engaging and fostering close working relationships with technical and digital colleagues across the ICS and beyond.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Sharon Binyon you will be a key member of the team seeking to fully utilise the potential of digital innovation in healthcare.
Main duties of the jobPrincipal Duties
- To provide strategic and professional leadership on clinical safety for digital transformation projects.
- Supporting changes in working practices, digital system implementation and workforce competency building for clinical safety.
- Work as a dynamic, innovative leader with key stakeholders and clinical professionals to ensure they are consulted in the design, delivery, and evaluation of digital transformation.
- Collaboratively support the development and delivery of a safe ICB Digital Transformation Strategy.
- Lead on developing a digitally enabled workforce to leverage technology in support of improved clinical and non-clinical practice and decision making.
- Act as a link to the wider community and citizen engagement, ensuring where necessary solutions are co-designed in line with local need.
- Perform the role of Clinical Safety Officer in accordance with Data Coordination Board and , ensuring rigorous governance is applied to all digital implementations and updates.
- Provide expert clinical IT advice in the event of system failures to reduce potential for patient harm and improve user experience.
About usThe post will sit within the Medical Directorate in CWICB and will report to the CMO through the Deputy CMO. However, to be effective the postholder will work closely with our Safety and Quality team and with the Chief Digital Officer and his team. The teams currently work in a hybrid way, coming together in person to facilitate joint working relationships as needed. The post holder will liaise within the Integrated Care system with colleagues in similar posts in partner organisations to promote system working and to share learning and experience. Appropriate supervision, training and development will be available and tailored to your individual needs and previous experience
