Liaising with other services & collecting information to ensure a joined-up approach to care for service users.
The Salford Mental Health Liaison Team (SMHLT) is a CORE-24 mental health service offering a comprehensive range of mental health specialties within one MDT, based in Salford Royal Hospital. Our aim is to be able to provide anyone with a suspected or actual mental health problem the opportunity to be assessed, treated, sign-posted or referred on, regardless of their age, presenting complaint, time of presentation or severity.

The successful post holder will predominantly work within the SMHLT, providing support and assistance to the professionally qualified staff, whilst delivering high quality care and support to service users referred to the service. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate care and compassion to those we support. You will be self-motivated and work well in a team, with an ability to keep calm under pressure or in times of crisis.

Carrying out assigned duties from the Shift Coordinator, involving direct care and observation of service users under the guidance and indirect supervision of qualified staff, reporting back any observations made whilst providing care to the wider team

Supporting service users waiting for assessment in the Emergency Department/wider hospital site, providing emotional support, guidance and brief interventions where indicated.

Whilst it is envisaged that the post holder will predominantly work within the SMHLT, there may also be an expectation to support other Urgent Care services within the division, dependent on service requirement.
