Are you a compassionate, friendly and efficient receptionist, ideally with experience working in the NHS or healthcare setting? We are seeking to recruit you to our Children's Integrated Admin Team based at the Kentish Town and Crowndale Health Centres. The post-holder will be responsible for providing essential administrative support to the team including:
- Staffing our reception desk
- Being a helpful and empathetic first point of contact for children, young people and families
- Data Entry and support
- Answering phones and taking messages
Your work will be a key part of the quality of our service, and of our patients’ experience. You will need to demonstrate the ability to deal with members of the public, clinical staff and partners, and to help resolve simple issues.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
To maintain appropriate clinical records on SystmOne.
To provide reception cover at Kentish Town and occasionally at Crowndale Health Centre
To collect and distribute all internal and external mail on a daily basis
To manage and archive paper records using the CNWL archiving supplier’s database
To take stationery and equipment inventories where necessary and order goods for colleagues using the iProcurement system
To organise own workload using independent judgement to prioritise required tasks and duties
To be responsible for arranging room bookings on behalf of the Team and
maintaining the relevant Outlook calendar/s
To respond in a courteous and professional manner to clients, visitors and other agencies and their teams
To be responsible for any personal development necessary to fulfil the
requirements of the post, attending any training required and fulfilling objectives set during regular appraisals
To assist in maintaining and improving services
Assist in maintaining own and others health, safety and security and help to maintain a clean and safe area in which to work
To support the team manager in ensuring the safety and security of the clinic environment including monitoring of equipment and arranging repairs to the building and equipment as needed
To act in a calm and professional manner at all times
To actively promote and ensure own actions support equality, diversity and rights as outlined in Trust policy
To cover the duties of other administration staff across both services as appropriate
To demonstrate a commitment towards their own personal development
To ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained and confidentiality with regard to the business of the services at all times.

Essential criteria
- A practical knowledge of administrative and information systems or demonstrated commitment to learn these
- Qualified to a basic level in Maths and English
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of administrative systems or experience of working on reception.
- Ability to deal with queries, checking information with managers staff and patients and communicating information verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrable experience of resolving queries, e.g. locating information, or supporting with process issues, escalating issues when necessary
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Camden community / children’s services.
- Experience of working in a health or social care environment.
- Experience in working with SystmOne Clinical System
Specific Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to develop and maintain good standards of communication both orally and in writing with people about difficult matters and in difficult situations
- Basic knowledge of using Microsoft Office packages appropriate to working on a reception desk, and data entry, along with excellent keyboard skills.
- Able to work as an effective team member, building constructive relationships with warmth and empathy.
- Ability to prioritise and plan own workload with support including use of supervision as appropriate.
- Ability to treat service users and colleagues with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach which considers the needs of the whole person, and a willingness to develop further skills in this area.
