This role is for a General Ophthalmologist, with a special interest in Glaucoma. To join the dynamic team of 8 consultants and to lead a rapidly growing and high- functioning glaucoma service. The post would suit candidates with sub-specialty experience in glaucoma. This post is aimed at individuals who are also able to undertake a wide range of general ophthalmic duties, and who are able to fit into a team delivering a broad range of both general and sub-specialist ophthalmic care. A high level of competence in cataract surgery is essential.

The Consultant is in overall charge of patients and will allocate duties and responsibilities depending on the experience of his or her team. The appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist will work in both general and specialist clinics and see new and follow up patients.

The appointed Consultant Ophthalmologist will be expected to have a special interest in glaucoma and will integrate into the present structure, and eventually develop and expand the service according to need, including in Powys (Brecon and Llandrindod Wells).

It is expected that the appointee will take over the running of glaucoma service along with the existing glaucoma consultant Mr Sachdev.
