Job summary

Practice Nurse to join a small and friendly GP practice in the heart of Bramcote Village. A varied role including all the usual treatment room services but also to support our dermatology clinic as a scrub nurse, and to assist with our vasectomy clinics as when needed.

We take pride in caring for our patients at Bramcote Surgery and being part of a successful PCN in Nottingham West.

Main duties of the job

You will be working alongside a friendly and skilled team of 3 GP's, a lead practice nurse and 2 HCA's to offer all our patients excellent care. We will support training needs but we need someone to join our team who is already working within a practice nurse role.

We have additonal services such as dermatology clinic and vasectomy clinic which requires nursing support, full training will be given to support these services.

Bramcote Surgery is a small but supportive team, very caring towards each other as well as our patients.

We have two GP Partners Dr Hopwood(m) & Dr Bhuchar(m)and a salaried GP Dr Chowdhury(f), our lead Nurse Leona and two HCA's Alison & Mo. Nottingham West PCN supports our clinical team with ARRS roles including mental health practitioner, first contact physio, pharmacist and pharmacist technician, care co-ordinaters + .

A small very experienced admin team supports our clinical team with recalls, tasks and all reception duties. We are high achievers of QoF and participate in all local enhanced services. We are currently awaiting a CQC rating due to a change in partnership but we was previously rated as outstanding.

MAIN TASKS PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Undertake and record the following clinical tasks as required:
  • Assess, plan, provide and implement and evaluate nursing care to meet the care needs of individuals in the practice population
  • Provide access to specialist nurse/GPs
  • Assisting with minor surgery
  • Identify, and manage as appropriate, treatment plans for patients at risk of developing a long-term condition
  • Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
  • Check all emergency equipment and drugs regularly and ensure records are up to date.
  • Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that encourage patients to live healthily, and apply principles of self-care e.g. diet, exercise, alcohol, smoking cessation
  • Actively maintain health promotion material within the practice and waiting room notice boards
  • Act as a chaperone when applicable
  • Undertake health screening, surveillance, new-patient screens and immunisation
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate record keeping
  • Attend and participate in practice team and clinical meetings
  • Assess and care for patients presenting with wounds including removal of sutures and clips and leg ulcer management
