Daisy Nook Recruitment is proud to be working alongside a privately run residential servicefor children (6-17 years old), with homes based in Liverpool and Sheffield. The homes are for children with EBD and learning disabilities. Our client is looking for Support Workers for their homes in Liverpool. This is a great career opportunity, joining a growing service right at a pivotal point.

The salary is between£12 - £12.50 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications. The hours are 42a week consisting of 3 long days and 1 either early shift or late shift.


Duties And Responsibilities Of The Support Worker


  • To work withchildrenand young people according to the individuals needs, providing focussed work as planned and directed.
  • To assist in the co-ordination of activities within the Unit and ensure that they are well managed and produce safe and consistent care.
  • To be involved in and organise activities which are in the best interests and meet the needs of those looked after.
  • Training & Development.
  • Administration and report writing.
  • Ensure security of the House, including contents, confidential records, cash, keys, furniture and equipment, residents clothing and possessions.
  • To assist the Manager in attending to the health of thechildren, arranging medical and dental examinations, and maintaining high standards of hygiene within the home.
  • Participate in training courses as arranged and undertake professional training if the opportunity is offered though secondment.
  • Observe confidentiality at all times in relation to the Home and its residents, recognising the vulnerability of the residents.


Must Have


  • A minimum of 12 months UKpaid experience of working with children
  • Knowledge of child care legislation & regulations Human growth and development
  • Assessment & care planning process Health & Safety, Environmental Health & Fire Regulations
  • Basis understanding ofChildren's Rights
  • Qualifications and Experience Qualified to NVQ Level 3
