BCHC has more than 5000 staff working across Birmingham and the West Midlands in a wide range of community nursing and specialist healthcare roles.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic speech and language therapist to join our Specialist Neuro-Rehab Speech and Language Therapy team on the Stroke and Neurological Rehabilitation Unit. The ward comprises of 28 Stroke beds, providing high quality assessment & treatment to patients following a stroke. The team comprises of administrative staff, speech & language therapists, physiotherapists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, nurses and skilled support staff.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic speech & language therapist to provide assessment and treatment for patients with a variety of speech, language and swallowing needs. You will have keyworker responsibility for some of the patients, therefore excellent communication skills and flexibility are essential.
You will be working as part of a large and supportive therapy team with excellent training and development opportunities as well as a robust supervision and appraisal system.. You will be offered structured support to complete both the RCSLT NQP Competencies Framework and RCSLT Dysphagia Competency Framework. You will be encouraged and supported to take part in service development projects as appropriate.
It is essential that you have current HCPC registration and recognised qualifications as a Speech and Language Therapist. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible and able to work well within a multidisciplinary team. They must be capable of working independently but will receive support from senior clinicians.
