An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic community Healthcare Assistant to join our Integrated Community Team based in Bishops Stortford providing excellent patient care to people in their own home. Some past experience in the caring profession is essential with NVQ 3 being desirable.This Band 3 Healthcare Assistant post will form part of a Community Team of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and rehabilitation assistants, delivering patient care in patients' homes.
Applicants will have a variety of clinical skills ranging from simple wound care to continence care and support of the dying patient, as well as excellent communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Full training for specific procedures will be given.
The successful candidate will be expected to work under supervision of qualified staff within the team, and be able to prioritise own workload.
The service is provided from 8am to 10pm seven days a week; therefore working some shifts at weekends, bank holidays and covering till 10pm at night are a requirement of the job.
This position is for a full time post
In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per annum (pro rata where applicable).
You must hold a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2.
