Salary Scale: £25,468 - £27,468

These are new roles within Primary Care and EHSCPs are looking for dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy support workers, to take forward key prescribing initiatives within NHS Lothian and transform the delivery of pharmaceutical care ensuring the right medicine reaches the right patient at the right time. Working with the Primary Care Pharmacy team, GPs, Care Home staff and other healthcare professionals, this job will provide an exciting and challenging opportunity to optimise prescribing and medicines management in GP practices and Care Homes across Edinburgh.
Key aspects of this role will involve providing pharmaceutical care to individual patients whenever they present by meeting their particular needs while maximizing effectiveness and economic use of resources. The candidate will be expected to assist with the review of Care Home medication ordering between Care Home, General Practice and Community Pharmacy, ensure storage conditions of medicines within Care Homes are adequate, promote cost effective use/ordering of medicines within Care Homes and General Practice to reduce medicine waste and assist with medication and prescription enquires and communicate locality pharmacy team work plans.
