The SROMC opened in March 2and provides integrated day case SACT (chemotherapy), out-patient clinics and access to Health & Wellbeing facilities. The health and wellbeing area incorporates our Macmillan Patient Information Manager and a Macmillan Welfare and Benefits Adviser. This provides excellent opportunities to develop services to support patients through treatment, with education programmes, complementary therapies, and support through their treatment and onwards to recovery and survivorship.
Main duties of the jobAs a Clinical Support worker you will have a range of duties including: performing basic observations, assisting patients attending for treatment with essential aspects of care and supporting outpatient clinics.
In addition you will undertake more complex duties including phlebotomy, accessing PICC, Hickman lines and Port-a-Caths, performing cannulation, phlebotomy, ECG's, bladder scanning, swabbing and basic dressings. You will ensure the unit is of the highest state of cleanliness, tidiness, always prepared and well-presented ready for patients. You must be able to take instruction from a range of staff with attention to detail and be an excellent team player / supportive colleague as well as acting on your own initiative.
