We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Support Worker with excellent skills in Phlebotomy.
Experience with oncology and haematology would be an advantage, but most important are true compassion and eagerness to learn and develop.

Within the Outpatient department we care for and deliver treatment to patients with solid tumours and haematological disorders. We run a daily dedicated Phlebotomy clinic for our Oncology and Haematology patients. We also have a nurse led clinic to deliver regular line care and blood tests to our patients.
Caring for patients with cancer can be tough. Our supportive team-working culture will empower you to build up professional relationships with your patients and their family as you follow closely their progress. Our patients appreciate dealing with a familiar and reassuring face.
This post will require the post holder to work 8-6 (9.5hrs) for 2 days, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday and some Bank Holidays during the year.
Can you see yourself in this role?
- Practice safe standards or care following UH Bristol and Weston guidelines and policies and within the scope of the SNA role.
- You will be running your own Nurse-led lists.
- You will be practising safe phlebotomy within clinics and running a Line-Care list for our patients with PICC lines, this will be taught in house with competencies.
- Maintain responsibility for the identification of own continuing educational and development needs, including audits of own work place.
- Contribute to the provision of a learning environment for staff undergoing training, this can be students and new members of staff.
- Demonstrate an awareness of healthcare work and policies and procedures.
- Ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training.
- You will be working within a team as well as autonomously.
- There is some work with ordering and organising the stock in the Department, together with the housekeeper.
- Be adaptable to change and delegated task.
