Applications are invited for a 1-year post-CCT Fellowship in Paediatric Surgery, with a special interest in Thoracic Surgery, within our department at Birmingham Children's Hospital, one of the busiest in the United Kingdom.

There are two available vacancies, one of which is due to commence asap until October 2025.

The Department of Paediatric Surgery and Urology consist of 14 Consultant Paediatric Surgeons and Urologists. We serve a regional population of over 5 million, as well as receiving supra-regional referrals for complex cases. In addition, two Paediatric Hepatobiliary and Transplant surgeons provide their training expertise.

The placement offers exposure to a wide range of Paediatric Thoracic Surgery at tertiary level. Successful Candidates will join the team on the Non-Resident Registrar Tier on the Paediatric Surgery and Urology on call rota (please see job description for a description of the tiered rota).

Applicants should possess either the AFRC/FRCS/MRCS or recognised equivalent European examination.

Due to the nature of the position, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
