You will be supported by the Lead Clinicians for this dermatology service and the CSU Matron.

The post holder will line manage a team of paediatric nurse specialists and a clinical support worker, including mentoring and supporting staff with their professional development.

Strategically the post holder will actively lead on setting standards of care, service development, and change management. The successful candidate will need to continually work to further develop and improve the Paediatric Dermatology service and to confidently advocate for service improvement initiatives within the adult-led Chapel Allerton Hospital CSU. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills who is comfortable working independently and autonomously.

The post holder will be based at Chapel Allerton Hospital. The service operates Monday to Friday. Clinics are delivered at both the Chapel Allerton Hospital and the Leeds General Infirmary and there may occasionally be the need to conduct home or school visits.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen at Chapel Allerton CSU. We are seeking to recruit a Band 7 Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Paediatric Dermatology nurse specialist team.

The ideal candidate should be an experienced paediatric nurse with some dermatology experience, educated to degree level. You will have a good understanding of paediatric dermatology and be willing to learn.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they are a strong and credible source of clinical knowledge in order to support the development of the nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team. They will be responsible for delivering independent nurse-led clinics, undertaking clinical assessments, and making treatment decisions using advanced clinical knowledge and experience. A non-medical prescribing qualification (or willingness to obtain) is integral for the role. Experience in supporting paediatric patients with Transition to adult services would be advantageous.
