About Us


The Vale Learning Disability Day Service provides meaningful day opportunities to adults with a learning disability, who may also have a complex presentation of need. We are a person-centred, outcomes-led, community-based provision, which delivers day opportunities from day centre bases and in local community locations, serving citizens across the whole of the Vale. Our service enables individuals to feel valued, increase their independence and maximise their potential.


About The Role


Pay Details: Grade 6 £27,334 - £29,777 p.a.

Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours Monday to Friday

Main Place of Work: Current base is either Woodlands or Trysor O Le day centres, but may include various locations across the Vale of Glamorgan in accordance with the needs of the role.

About You


You will need:

  • Experience of supporting people with learning disabilities and establishing community networks and resources with them. You will be committed to working as part of a team and have experience of liaising with a wide range of agencies. You will have experience of monitoring and evaluating service delivery standards.
  • Knowledge of relevant Social Care policy, best practice and key legislation
  • A person centred approach to plan, implement, monitor and review day services for individuals’ with a learning disability who may also have a complex presentation of support needs. You will be organised and effective in managing your own workload and have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people using a variety of methods. You will be able to contribute effectively to the supervision of staff, to include performance management and undertaking #it’saboutme appraisals. You will have proven IT and digital technology skills to include Microsoft Office and good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A good general standard of education and the ability to undertake relevant training and apply skills and knowledge to your job role.
  • A positive attitude and ability to lead change and staff engagement. You will be committed to promoting the principles of equality and demonstrate understanding of core social care values and ethics.
  • To undertake Positive Behavioural Management training and apply Positive Behavioural Support within your day to day work

DBS Check Required: Enhanced and Barred Adult DBS

Candidates will need to have the ability to drive between various locations in accordance with the needs of the role
