Over The Years, It Has Grown And Evolved Into An Exemplary Provider Of Specialist Palliative Care For Thousands Of People With Life-limiting Illnesses In Edinburgh And The Lothians Annually, While Also Providing Support To Their Relatives And Loved Ones. We Currently Have The Following Opportunity To Join The Hospice Team
Driver / Facilities Assistant
Permanent / Full Time
Hospice Band 3 – £26,477 - £27,486 + Pension + Benefits
37.5 hours per week, Monday –Friday
In this role you will support the Hospice with driving the patient transport operation, assist with equipment and sample deliveries, and carry out other Facilities duties, including security and maintenance.
You will be expected to provide a person centred and safe transport service and manage the transport schedule, vehicle and service equipment. You will support staff and patients who use the service and liaise and manage required contractors. You will be proactive in identifying and addressing your own personal education and development needs and assist with training staff on the use of the vehicles.
The range of equipment used includes the Patient transport vehicle, WAV, Van, wheelchairs, patient trolley and tail lift. You will occasionally use computer and mobile phone for general administration, preparation of data and reports, occasional use of laptop, iPad, Smartboard projector, flip-chart etc for teaching and facilitation of working groups. There will also be a requirement to use basic tools such as pliers, screw drivers, hacksaws etc and personnel protective equipment: hard hat, gloves, face mask ear defenders, harness and lanyards (when working at height), ladders and steps.
You will work collaboratively with various teams within the Hospice in relation to booking and scheduling patient transport and will provide advice and support to staff where required. The successful candidate will be required to hold a full UK Driving licence for this role.
Based at the Hospice in Trinity, Edinburgh, this is an exciting and challenging role where no two days are the same.
