This key leadership post provides an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to support the delivery of excellent bloodspot screening to babies across Wales.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the national programme team for Newborn Bloodspot Screening Wales. If you are a Midwife or Health Visitor with a passion for quality improvement and collaborative working, you might be our next Programme Co-ordinator.This key leadership post provides an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to support the delivery of excellent bloodspot screening to babies across Wales. NBSW Programme Co-ordinators play a critical role in ensuring all babies across Wales receive timely, high quality bloodspot screening. They are pivotal to our aim of identifying rare but serious conditions and beginning treatment before symptoms emerge.
Working with colleagues in all health boards, the national bloodspot screening laboratory and the failsafe administration team, the successful candidate will plan, support, facilitate and monitor programme performance. The postholder will develop and lead programme initiatives to ensure that every baby receives equitable, excellent screening. Programme Co-ordinators play a key part in ensuring future generations receive high quality screening through the delivery of education for NHS colleagues and students across Wales and supporting the national implementation of screening for new conditions.
This is an all Wales role, office base is flexible.
The position will be vacant from the end of August, following the retirement of the current postholder.
To lead the monitoring of all aspects of performance of the Newborn Bloodspot Screening Wales programme and the development of action plans to address performance concerns.
The post holder will be required to work with initiative, determination, and the ability to promote the collaborative working required to provide excellent and compassionate screening.
The post holder will have well developed critical appraisal skills, excellent organisational skills and be an effective communicator to help ensure that the programme continues to provide excellent services for future generations. The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and will lead national initiatives.
The role will provide an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team, striving to improve patient outcomes and patient care through the delivery of high-quality screening to families across Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
