An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the operational management team within the Women’s and Children’s Care Group at UHMBT.
We are looking for a Clinical Service Manager with passion and commitment to getting it right for our women and families.
As a Clinical service Manager your role will be to oversee day to day management and operational delivery of high quality, patient focused services whilst driving forward an existing improvement agenda.
The Service Manager is a key position within the Care Group leadership team, being responsible for the operational and performance management of the services delivered across UHMBT.
The Service Manager plays a key role in the delivery of the NHS constitutional standards, the cancer and elective recovery programme.
This role offers a great opportunity for the post holder to directly shape and influence service improvements to benefit our patients and staff.
This post will suit those who are flexible and creative in their approach and enjoy working in partnership with the team to achieve the best outcomes for our women and families.
If you are an experienced operational manager who is committed to work as part of an MDT, who can demonstrate delivery of service improvement and are passionate about improving services for women and families, then we would love to hear from you.
The post-holder is responsible for the operational / budgetary management and development of a defined range of clinical services within O&G including the delivery of National and Local performance targets.
As a line manager, the post-holder is responsible for identifying staffing needs and managing recruitment, training, deployment, leave and development of staff in order to provide the appropriate capacity for the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services.
The post-holder is responsible for maintaining effective communication within the service, Care Groups, and other external organisations/agencies.
The post-holder is responsible for determining and monitoring standards and policies for their service, in conjunction with the Matron and/ lead clinician.
The post-holder is responsible for planning developments within the services including input into the Operational Plan and ensuring coordination with Workforce Development plans.
This Will Include
- Providing effective leadership and line management for all staff
- Co-ordinating work to improve services
- Leading the delivery of performance targets in the NHS plan to improve access to, and quality of patient services
- Liaising with a variety of improvement programmes
- Developing, testing, and implementing new ways of working to improve patient services, tackling staff shortages, and increasing job satisfaction, in conjunction with the Matrons and Clinical Leads
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life-threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
