This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of clinicians providing CAMH services to care experienced young people across the North Highland region. This is a full-time post, however, part-time hours may be considered.
Applicants should have suitable experience working with care experienced young people and those who care for them, and working with children and young people who are experiencing moderate to severe difficulties with their mental health and wellbeing.
CAMHS in north NHS Highland is a specialist multi-disciplinary team based in Inverness, but providing clinics across a large rural geography. We also have clinicians based in more remote localities who are supported by the centrally based team. Primary mental health workers, employed by our partner agency Highland Council, are in place across Highland.
The post holder will be aligned to the Highland Council Arach services, working with Care Experienced Young People. This is a post commissioned by the Highland Council, to promote the psychological wellbeing of young people who are care experienced and to maintain them in placements within the Highland area. The post is varied and includes direct clinical work with children, young people and their carers and also a significant amount of indirect clinical work offering consultation, training and support to residential teams, foster carers and professional networks.
Highland offers many positive lifestyle opportunities, with both the benefits of rural living (including snow sports, hill walking, kayaking and more) and city life in Inverness allowing access to shopping, restaurants and theatre.
A relocation package might be available and can be considered.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
