Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Cwm Taf Morgannwg (CTM) University Health Board and Cardiff & Vale (C&V) University Health Board as part of the Dental Core Training 2 programme which offers the opportunity to broaden knowledge and experience within the dental profession and is a recognised career pathway after the completion of Dental Foundation Training (DFT).
The post holder will gain valuable experience in working in Community Dental Services and will provide domiciliary care throughout the CTM and C&V footprints requiring a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel between community sites.
Working as a Dental Core trainee in Wales means that you will be following a single lead employer model and all DCT2 training contracts include up to 30 days of study leave. Health Education Improvement Wales provides, at no cost to the trainee, up to 6 common mandatory structured study days, leaving each trainee with at least 24 self-directed study days, where you can pursue suitable learning and development of their own choice.
The post will start on 04th September 2024 and finish on 02nd September 2025. The post is not suitable for temporary registrants. The successful candidate will be part of the official DCT2 programme.

You Will Learn
- to work in a large multidisciplinary community dental team, alongside experienced clinicians including specialists and consultants
- to manage patients referred from primary care general dental practices and other professionals
- to work with vulnerable patients in the community
- gain experience in specialist patient pathways such as sedation and general anaesthetic
