Your Role As a Health Care Assistant


  • Mickey Peg Feeding: Provide specialised feeding support to students requiring Mickey Peg feeding.
  • Insulin Injections: Administer insulin injections and manage diabetes care for students.
  • Suction: Perform suction procedures as needed to ensure student well:being.
  • General First Aid and Paediatric First Aid: Offer immediate medical assistance, handle first aid across the school, and provide paediatric first aid.

Were Looking For in a Health Care and Welfare Assistant:

  • Qualifications: At least a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care is required; a Level 3 qualification is preferable.
  • Candidates must also hold Manual Handling certificates and have completed First Aid/Paediatric First Aid training.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a healthcare setting, particularly working with children and young people.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Responsibilities: Manage all first aid and specific healthcare duties, serving as the go:to person for all medications and health:related concerns within the school.
