Youth Inclusion CoordinatorWe have an exciting opportunity for a Youth Work Coordinator to lead an inclusive provision, accessible to all young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)Position: Inclusion CoordinatorLocation: Burnt Oak, London, HA8 0DTSalary: £28,000-£29,500 pro rata depending on experienceHours: Part-time, 16 hours per week (0.4 FTE)Closing Date: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and we reserve the right to close the role early once an appointment has been made.About the role:You will be working for a youth charity committed to providing a safe and inspiring place for all young people.
As Inclusion Coordinator you will be responsible for planning and delivering their ‘Limitless’ SEND provision (Sundays, 10am-2pm year-round and Wednesdays 10am-2pm during school holidays), as well as promoting SEND awareness throughout the organisation.Key responsibilities will include:To lead the Sunday Limitless session (10am-2pm) year round, and the Wednesday Limitless Holiday Club (10am-2pm) during the school holidaysTo identify the diverse needs of young people and plan, coordinate and deliver youth work targeting these needsTo support in the development of the Deputy Inclusion Club LeadTo influence the general programme of events so that it is attractive to young people with a wide range of additional needsTo be a role model and a resource for other staff and volunteers to improve their inclusion practiceTo regularly engage in CPD related to inclusionTo contribute to the building of effective partnerships with statutory and voluntary services and other relevant agenciesTo manage the Inclusion budget line and coordinate any other special events/activities (eg trips)About you:We are looking for an experienced individual, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude who can be a role model for young people.
You will need to have the following skills and experience:Experience of Youth Work and of working with young people especially those with SENDExperience of successful inclusion workExperience of working with other agencies to promote best outcomes for children/young peopleExcellent communication skillsKnowledge of the issues affecting young people and an ability to work with challenging behaviour and complex needsThe charity’s strength is its diversity of its people.
