Infection Prevention Nurse,


Band 5 part time (30hrs over 4 days), permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join a dynamic and innovative Infection Prevention Team.

The successful candidate will have a proven clinical track record of innovation in the care of their patients. Excellent inter-personal skills are essential. You will be required to work as part of a friendly and supportive team of Infection Prevention Nurses to deliver the organisational infection prevention strategy. You will work closely with front-line clinical colleagues in either the medical or surgical IP team to establish supportive and collaborative working relationships.

Candidates should have a minimum of 12 months acute clinical experience, and preferably have experience of being an IP link nurse or show a strong interest in infection prevention/patient safety. They must be able to demonstrate a passion for protecting our patients from preventable infections and act as a role model to inspire others in patient safety.

Whilst previous infection prevention experience is not essential, the individual will be given training and helped to further their education and development in this clinical field.

The successful individual will be instrumental to support the delivery of the UHNM strategy to prevent hospital acquired infections.
