As a Podiatrist working with Practice Plus Group you will:

Provide outstanding evidence based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to patients focusing on both planned and unplanned care.

Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries. Playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Inspire excellence in your colleagues by being pro-active in the management of foot, ankle and lower extremity conditions and motivating the wider team to identify patients at high risk. You will forge strong working relationships with the Practice Plus Group healthcare team and the wider Health in Justice Service.

Promote best practice, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of reflection and shared learning.

Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care supporting your clinical and non-clinical colleagues to do a great job.

Be responsible for your own caseload and waiting list and be able to work as an autonomous practitioner.

To ensure the continued quality of care at at HMP Altcourse we are looking for a Podiatrist to join our team, working 12 hours a month.  There is no on-call or weekend work to allow for a strong work life balance!

You will be part of a forward thinking, innovative health care team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists and mental health professionals, delivering high quality, best practice treatment. You will also form part of the wider MSK Health in Justice Team comprising of physiotherapists and podiatrists working in 54 prisons across the country.  You will be closely supported and mentored by our Team Lead Podiatrist, and this combined with our well-developed appraisal system, in-service training and funding for external clinical courses, you will be provided with an excellent supportive learning environment.

This role requires the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the offender healthcare setting who may have complex and/or chronic presentation.   You will need to determine clinical diagnosis and clinical treatment, and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.  

With this in mind, you will be HCPC registered with post registration experience assessing and treating a range of conditions including diabetic patients, wound management, MSK pathologies and nail surgery. You will also be self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.
