Band 3: £24,071 to £25,674 a year per annum, pro rata  PERMANENT 
Assist in maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience andoutcome of care.

  • Provide good quality personalised care in accordance with agreed local and national standards.
  • Take samples from patients for testing or dispatching eg: Urine, sputum, faeces,
  • MRSA swabs, blood sugars, venous blood sampling and ECG recordings - this is not exhaustive

We are you looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our nursing team on Hazelwood ward. There are opportunities to develop your career supported by an established and welcoming team. Our unit is a busy proactive 19 bedded ward we admit adults with a diverse range of acute and complex respiratory conditions and are looking for a highly motivated individual with the passion to deliver excellent care with compassion and a can do attitude.

You must have a willingness to undertake further training E.G. phlebotomy, ECG recording to support the team in the management of patients with acute medical conditions. In return you will be fully supported by colleagues who are committed to teaching and nurturing. Experience of working with medical patients in a hospital setting would be beneficial but not essential, However, working well within a team is essential.

You will need to be flexible in your working hours to work shifts/unsocial hours including nights as required.

under the guidance and supervision of the team leader/nurse in charge including: assisting patients with personal hygiene, toileting, use of continence aids, catheter care, stoma care, measuring & monitoring patient output, removal of catheters, moving and handling, use of mobility appliances, correct patient positioning, assess pressure areas and skin integrity, ensuring patient safety, taking specimens including blood sugars, taking and recording physical measurements observing patients for changes in condition, carrying out simple dressings, removal of venflons.
