An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to join our friendly and progressive Pharmacy Department at Glangwili General Hospital.
You will be an extremely valuable member of the team, supplying medicines to the hospital including outpatients, and support the co-ordination of discharging patients at ward level to improve patient flow. Part of your role will include the supply and distribution of stock.
You will be a strong confident team player, demonstrate professionalism at all times and be committed to your development and the development of the services that we provide to patients.
We are committed to developing the role of Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officers within the Pharmacy Department and are increasing their involvement within the service delivery.
The Pharmacy team is forward thinking and continually strives to improve the delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and optimise the use of medicines within the Health Board.
The successful candidate will work within a team of Senior Technical Officers, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists in providing a wide range of Pharmaceutical Services within the hospital setting. You will be given specific training to help develop your skills.
Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above. To hold a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Pharmacy services or equivalent is desirable but not essential, as full support and supervision will be provided to complete the NVQ Level 2 qualification in pharmacy services.
To perform a variety of tasks to support the pharmacy teams within the Health Board. Roles may include working in the following areas: Distribution, Procurement, Dispensary, and Ward Based Services.
The successful candidate will be involved in working on a weekend and Bank Holiday Rota.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
