Band 5 Staff Nurse Adult Emergency Department inLondon inLondon PUBLISHED 19 SEP 2024

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated Band 5’s who have a passion for Emergency Nursing to join our friendly Emergency Department.

It is desirable to have post registration experience in an acute care setting and have the resilience to meet the challenges of our busy but rewarding department, however we would also like to hear from newly qualified nurses or those who have worked in an acute setting prior or during training and have an interest in making this their career

There are exciting changes happening with the Emergency Department at Newham, and the wider Trust with expansion of our Same Day Emergency Care area, which all our nurses rotate into on a regular basis.

Newham Emergency Department serves a large diverse population and on average see’s 400-500 patients a day, including acute medical patients, paediatrics, and patients in a mental health crisis.

To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams. You will be self-motivated an excellent communicator and have proven clinical and organisational skills but also have a desire to learn and develop and work as an integral member of our large and dynamic team.

The post holder will work within the NMC Code, trust policies, guidance, and procedures to ensure safe working practice.

We offer a structured orientation and on-going support and guidance. We follow the RCN National Emergency Nursing Framework competencies. Our experienced PDN and Practice Facilitator as well as the senior nursing and MDT team including ACP’s Social Prescribers and Consultants will support you to achieve your competencies at level 1, with a mapped pathway into our Emergency Care and Trauma courses at level 2.
