- Your role will include providing support to children and their families under supervision of the registered nursing team.
- Taking and recording of temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, height and weight on instruction from the RN. - To restock departmental areas as required reporting any shortages to the NiC/Ward Manager.
- Using IT systems as required
- Supervision of the young person admitted with a mental health disorder.
- To adhere to the policy for the Control of Infection.
- To maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business.
- To participate in quality assurance programmes as required.
- To participate in the promotion of a positive learning environment and to act as a role model at all times.
- To be aware of and contribute to Clinical Governance arrangements/issues for area of work.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join our friendly paediatric ward team.
We are currently seeking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant on Bluefin Ward Worthing Hospital and are offering part-time hours.
We have 21 beds within our general Paediatric Ward taking patients from 0-18 years. The ward cares for patients with a range of medical, surgical, orthopaedic and oncology conditions and includes an High dependency area and CYPDU (Children and Young Person's Day Unit)
The successful candidate will be required to work 23 hours per week (11.5 hour shifts working 7 days a week covering both day and night duties) There will also be opportunities for bank work to cover sickness and annual leave.
Previous experience in working with Children is desirable.Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative and a child friendly approach are essential.
