Job description
The Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 therapy support worker to join our motivated team and work on the neurosciences wards at Charing Cross Hospital.
The Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is a Regional Neurosciences Centre, as such, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in providing high quality care for patients with varied neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, brain tumours, and spinal cord injuries.
The Neurosciences team are comprised of supportive, skilled therapists who uphold the Trust values of ‘Kind, Collaborative, Expert, Aspirational’; they utilise a patient-centred, problem-solving approach to support people to adjust to changes in their health, transition from a hospital setting to home, and improve their quality of living. As a therapy support worker on this team, you will perform administrative and clinical duties to support the occupational therapists and physiotherapists
The Trust has a strong commitment to education, and training and you will be given every opportunity to develop your clinical and managerial skills. You will also be provided with support from qualified staff to develop your competencies to meet the job role.

The post-holder is expected to be professional, efficient, effective, and committed to Continuous Professional Development and to contributing every day to improving healthcare. You must be an effective communicator, with excellent people, and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams as your role will include liaising with multiple members of the MDT and with patients and their family members. Good time management and administrative skills will also be necessary to be successful in this role.
Prior experience of hospital-based support work in a clinical setting is desirable. Additionally, experience working with people with neurological conditions and working within a multidisciplinary team would be beneficial.

- to assist the therapists to deliver high quality rehabilitation to patients with complex cognitive, behavioural, emotional and physical needs.
- to be responsible for and manage a delegated clinical caseload.
- to achieve and maintain competencies through skills and knowledge development.
- to perform non-clinical and administrative duties within the department as required.
