Post Dietetic Assistant Practitioner, Weight Management and Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes Service (Maternity Leave Cover)

Grade Band 4

Hours Full Time (1 wte) 37 hours/week

Fixed Term 12 months

Salary £27, 598 - £30,per annum

A unique opportunity has arisen for a dietetic assistant practitioner, experienced in type 2 diabetes prevention and support, to join our multidisciplinary Weight Management and Prevention of Type 2 Diabetes Team on a fixed term basis (maternity leave cover). This post is central to the coordination and provision of type 2 diabetes early education provision (DESMOND) and supports the Let’s Prevent Diabetes (LPD) programme, offering licenced pathways of care to patients with pre-diabetes and patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. The post holder requires to have experience in health services administration/record keeping, patient group education, and a passion for providing patients evidenced based support to manage their condition. The Weight Management & Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Team, provides adult and paediatric weight management/diabetes prevention services across NHS Lothian. The post holder will work within a supportive and dynamic team, taking a lead coordination and education role in supporting delivery of programme objectives.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
