Job summaryThe Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases at Great Ormond Street Hospital would like to announce an exciting opportunity for a 12 month fixed term Clinical Research Fellow post.
The Clinical Research fellow will help to correlate phenotypic, biochemical and genetic features in a cohort of patients with inherited cardiovascular diseases recruited from outpatient clinics at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The Fellow will also provide a vital clinical support role for patients and families who are attending GOSH to participate in gene therapy and other clinical trials.
Applicants should possess a primary medical degree with Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or RCPCH (MRCPCH /FRCPCH) and should be at ST4 level or above. They should possess at least one year's experience of clinical Paediatric Cardiology.

Main duties of the job - Identify suitable patients from Great Ormond Street Hospital outpatient clinics and referred nationally.
- Evaluate clinical features of each patient and gather all available clinical data from clinical records.
- Obtain necessary clinical samples from the affected proband and family members for genetic and biochemical studies
- Correlate clinical, biochemical and genetic data in a database
- To liaise with collaborating UK and international groups and to present work to these groups and meetings as required.
- To record, analyse and write up the clinical data and laboratory experiments.
- To contribute to the overall, normal activities of the research team and department as required, including laboratory duties and attendance of department meetings and seminars.
