The MRI Department comprises of a dedicated team made up of HCPC registered MRI Radiographer's, some static some 50/50 rotational, Static MRI Radiology Department Assistants (RDA's), MRI APs and Rotational RDA's. We often have registered staff and doctors from other disciplines visiting our department.
We scan patients referred to us from hospital outpatient clinics, GPS and inpatient groups including paediatrics, medicine for the elderly, orthopaedics, the Emergency Department and the Intensive care complex. We scan a wide variety of anatomy to aid the diagnosis of many pathologies in the body.
This is a developmental role. As the Apprentice, you will work towards progression into the post of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Assistant Practitioner (AP) through successful completion of defined clinical competencies and the attainment of a Foundation Degree equivalent qualification.
You will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of Assistant Practitioner within the service this includes working in clinical care settings and delivery of person-centred care.
If you do not successfully complete the Assistant Practitioner 2-year Foundation degree/Level 5 qualification, you will either return to your substantive post and banding should you already work for us or this post will be terminated.
