Job summaryWe have an exciting opportunity in our Same Day Emergency Care unit for a band 7 Supervisory role.
Are you an experienced Emergency or Acute admission unit nurse? Are you looking for an opportunity to develop yourself whilst leading a team?
Our SDEC is a 7-day service that looks after acutely unwell medical and surgical patients not requiring admission. The unit is open 7 days a week, has Emergency, Surgical and Acute Medicine input, the clinician team consists of nurses, ACPs and clinicians. The role of the Band 7 is to ensure our patients received safe and high quality care.
We are looking for a kind, compassionate and caring nurse to support our patients, their families and our dedicated team of staff. You will have high standards and be able to demonstrate excellent patient care, clinical and leadership skills.
You will have the opportunity to continue to progress your professional development and will be supported in this role by the Senior Nurse team. Commitment to undertake ongoing in-service training and development is essential. You should be motivated, keen to learn and ready to embrace change; our commitment to you is to provide the environment and support for this to happen.

Main duties of the jobThe sister/charge nurse will:
- Be supervisory to practice
- Responsible for professional day to day clinical leadership and operational management of the ward.
- Ensure delivery of high quality, responsive, safe, efficient and compassionate care.
- Support the Matron in developing the service.
- Act as a leader and role model, adopting a flexible approach in a role which encompasses leadership, management and clinical responsibilities
- Demonstrate pride in their work and enthusiasm for quality of care
- Continue to develop the service through new pathways
