Who We’re Looking For
As our team continues to grow and with exciting developments in Monzo’s governance on the horizon, we are looking for a talented, hands-on, and enthusiastic Assistant Company Secretary. Ideally, you are a recently qualified Assistant Company Secretary with a solid understanding of corporate secretarial practice and a strong desire to develop your career in a fast-paced, tech-driven bank.
You will join a small but exceptional company secretarial team, operating in a dynamic environment and supporting a growing business with ambitious plans for expansion both in the UK and overseas. Reporting to and supporting a Senior Company Secretary, you will have direct exposure to the Group Board and Executive Management. This role offers ample opportunities to enhance your company secretarial skill set while contributing to an innovative and forward-thinking organisation.
What You’ll Do
This role is broad, requiring flexibility and a willingness to embrace ambiguity. You will have the opportunity to own and deliver key projects, pushing forward innovative governance enhancement initiatives. You'll be encouraged to get involved with exciting projects and to work collaboratively across many teams both in the UK and overseas.
In addition to offering general support to a Senior Company Secretary, you will be responsible for:
- drafting agendas;
- minuting meetings;
- preparing and distributing board packs;
- producing Companies House filings;
- managing the Statutory Registers;
- issuing share certificates;
- maintaining trackers; and,
- supporting the business on KYC requests.
The Knowledge, Experience And Skills You Need
- You are a recently qualified company secretary (ACIS or equivalent) with a solid understanding of company secretarial practice.
- You really want to develop your company secretarial career in financial services.
- You care about Monzo’s mission of making money work for everyone.
- You have the ability to quickly pivot and adjust to new situations, keeping pace with a constantly evolving business environment.
- You have very good communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely.
- You are detail-focused with a track record of producing high-quality work.
The Interview Process
Our interview process involves 4 main stages:
- Recruiter call (potentially followed by an initial call with a member of the Legal team)
- First stage role specific interview
- Second stage interview
- Coffee chat
