Are you looking for a new challenge or career step?An opportunity has arisen to join the team of over 30 Dietitians in the York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Band 6 Dietitian specialising in surgery and critical care. This post is based at York Hospital and will involve working across both York and Scarborough hospitals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Dietitian, with experience of working within UK health care systems, to support our Surgery and Critical Care dietetic services .
The ability to transport yourself across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this vacancy.
The surgery/critical care Dietitians deliver a comprehensive service to patients in a wide area of clinical specialities, including;
- Post-surgery
- Patients on a bariatric surgical pathway
- Critical care
- Acute pancreatitis
- Intestinal failure
- Patients on a head and neck cancer pathway
- Patients on an upper-gastrointestinal cancer pathway
The department places a strong emphasis on clinical supervision, training and education, including:
- peer support and supervision
- well established programme facilitating the training of dietetic students
- delivery of a variety of rolling training programmes for other healthcare professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care
- opportunities to participate in audit and research
