We have an exciting opportunity to come and join our very successful and innovative Upper GI Clinical Nurse Specialist Service at Kettering General Hospital.

We are looking to recruit a compassionate nurse Band 7 Upper GI Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our existing upper GI nursing team. You will be working opposite the existing band 7 CNS. The post is 18.5 hours.

You will need to have been a band 6 for at least 2 years and preferably with experience and in depth knowledge for the provision of care to patients and families affected with cancer or equivalent to have experience of running the clinics. You will need to be a compassionate and resilient person. We require you to possess excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a disciplinary team and manage stressful situations.


Your New Role

Your role will be supporting patients and families with Upper GI cancers. The successful candidate will have experience of working with cancer patients and in particular patients with an upper GI malignancy. You will work as part of the Multidisciplinary Team ensuring that patients with a GI malignancy receive the highest standard of care and support from the time of referral to diagnosis and throughout the cancer pathway. The post holder will be an active member of both the local and specialist Upper GI cancer MDT's
