An opportunity has arisen in South Manchester for an integrated role between Wythenshawe Hospital Rheumatology department and community services for a Band 7 podiatrist to provide specialist care for patients with inflammatory arthropathies 2.5 days per week in the hospital and 2 days within the community podiatry service, (this can be rearranged to a 9 day fortnight) The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and providing the Rheumatology pathways within the acute setting and community podiatry team. In addition this position offers the opportunity to work within the rheumatology multidisciplinary team providing both support and management of an independent caseload.
We would like to see evidence of a varied portfolio of rheumatology experience and post graduate training to support your application.
Although we are looking for the post holder to have advanced skills and experience, we are also able to offer this post as a training opportunity for applicants who are working towards an advanced role and gaining the relevant knowledge base in this field. I
The successful candidate will be required to contribute to audit, teaching and training within the Department.
This post requires a podiatrist who can demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in the management of individuals with Rheumatoid arthritis and other connective tissue disorders in adults and diabetes
The post holder will be able to work autonomously and as part of a multi disciplinary team in secondary care participating in consultant led and nurse led out patient clinics to provide specialist care and education for all those attending the rheumatology department. The posit holder will also be responsible for developing pathways for rheumatology podiatry services in line with best practice and clinical governance. This role will include travelling between sites an visiting patients in their own home
