We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine to join our team.
The successful candidate will join a team of 16 friendly and dynamic Intensive Care Consultants. We are dedicated to developing the department, team and working towards the wider organisational goals and culture.
The current job plan is based around sessions in Anaesthesia, but single specialty ICM can be accommodated.
This is an exciting time to be joining the trust, as plans to reconfigure are under way. Currently there is an intensive care unit on each site (Halifax & Huddersfield) providing level 2 and level 3 care. Critical care will be consolidated to one site (Halifax) with a larger unit and increased bed base. This is a rare opportunity to shape the delivery of critical care within the Trust.
Please see job description and person specification for full details
To provide a high standard of care to any patient for whom you have clinical responsibility.
The appointee will take part in the ICU on call rota, either at Calderdale or Huddersfield depending on service requirements and prior discussion with the Clinical Directors.
Surgical specialties provided by the Trust include ENT, Trauma & Orthopaedics, General, Ophthalmic, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Upper GI (including Bariatrics), Urological (including laparoscopic resections), Colorectal and Plastic surgery. Some paediatric work is undertaken within these specialties.
