What might it look like to work here?
Stand by, we'll show you...
The Capacity & Flow Team is a dedicated team who provide highly skilled and professional support in directing patient flow across the acute division 24/7. Clinical site co-ordination supports patient flow to ensure timely bed availability, admission, discharge, transfer and appropriate placement of patients across Medical and Surgical Directorates, Scheduled and Unscheduled care and operates within the delivery of the 4 hour Emergency Access target.
Due to an expansion of the team to enhance our 24/7 cover on site, an exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for an individual to make a significant contribution to the delivery of hospital site management. The clinical co-ordinator role is significant in the management of acute beds and will work closely with primary care colleagues promoting patient flow to downstream hospitals as well as managing transfer to and from tertiary centers. You will provide a high level of visibility and leadership and act as a professional role model to uphold the standards required of the Acute Services Division in NHS Fife.
The successful candidate will be an experienced NMC registered first level nurse with skills and competencies normally associated with substantial post-registration with evidence of professional development and proven leadership experience and a focus on high standards of quality, patient centered care delivery.
This challenging post requires excellent decision making skills and you must be able to work autonomously and have strong, refined and effective communication and organizational skills with the ability to apply these effectively in a dynamic environment.
If you would like to be part of our team and feel you have the skills and share our values, I would be delighted to hear from you and welcome your application.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Hiring Manager.
A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment.
