Children's Health Care Support Worker


An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join the team on Sophie's Place caring for children and young people in both our outpatients department and acute assessment ward. If you looking for a new challenge we are interested in hearing from you!

Sophie’s Place is a children's day assessment ward and outpatients service at Hampshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (Winchester site) seeing children and young people of all ages.

You will be expected to support and work along the nursing staff to ensure that high quality care is delivered to the children and their families. Excellent communication skills with children and young people are key to successfully engaging with them to assess their care needs.

The role will be varied, with opportunities to learn many additional skills such as performing blood tests and lung function testing on children.

We will provide you with the opportunities and support to develop further skills that will enable you to extend and enhance the role.
