NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. The shift pattern is 2x 12hrs 1x 6hr. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

These are fixed term positions of 1 year.

We are seeking to employ highly motivated and enthusiastic registered Primary Care Nurses to work in the Out of Hours across the service.

You will work within the nursing and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group. You will competently perform the necessary technical / invasive / physical aspects of care for this defined patient group. You will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards.

You will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient needs, implementation and evaluation of care, which are evidence based. Utilising all available resources taking into consideration the lifestyle, gender and cultural background and ensure involvement with the patient, family, carers and significant others. The role will entail assessment of patients on arrival to the site and throughout their stay. You must have sound clinical skills and the ability to escalate any concerns of clinical deterioration.

You will empower patients to take responsibility for their health, well-being and future lifestyle by practicing in an open, transparent and inclusive manner; thereby ensuring patients have the relevant information to participate in decisions about their care. It is essential that you are currently a Registered Nurse with the NMC with post registration experience. You will be expected to work flexibly across sites within NHS GG & C to meet the needs of this service.

The position will be offered on a fixed term bases for 1 year and hours available are 12 or 24 hour contracts.
