Band 5: £29,970 to £36,483 a year per annum  PERMANENT

The team is based at The Redwoods Centre in Shrewsbury and provides mental health assessment, treatment and support to people in Shropshire on a 24/7 basis. We work with people who are experiencing a mental health crisis, require extra support alongside their regular support network or who can have the same treatment provided at home that they would receive in a Mental Health Hospital.

We are a team that consists of Nurses, Support Workers, Non-Medical Prescribers, Medical Staff, OT's and Administrators. As we work with people with all types of mental health presentations, we need to have a range of skills and interests that create a strong and responsive team.

Band 5 Nurses have a crucial role in delivering safe and effective home treatment for an identified client group and in accordance with that persons wellbeing and recovery action plan

You will;

participate in the delivery of the agreed aims and objectives of the service and identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved.

Assist in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care to service users referred to the team.

Implement agreed systems for the monitoring of effectiveness of care.

Participate in the education and management of junior staff.

  • Contribution to the delivery of home treatment through nursing care to an identified community client group and within a multi disciplinary team.
  • Support for and facilitation of, early discharge from hospital.
  • Development and maintenance of effective communications within the area of work and promotion of positive working relationships with individuals, departments and other agencies.
  • Managing time effectively to ensure the best use of people and resources, informing senior members of the team when issues impacting on service delivery become apparent.
  • Helping to ensure a positive and professional image of the team is maintained through collaboration, role modelling and openness.
  • Adhering to legislation, policy, procedure and guidance from the Trust and other relevant professional bodies
  • Maintaining compliance with the required range of mandatory and statutory training as well as with the requirements of registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • This is a 24 hour service which will involve shifts including weekends and occasional nights.
