Annandale Medical Practice are looking to recruit a Phlebotomist / Healthcare assistant to cover maternity leave.
We are a friendly 3 partner GP Practice located in North East Edinburgh. From our purpose built premises, we provide a wide range of services to our diverse patient population of over 8000. We have a varied multidisciplinary team comprised of GPs, Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacists, Mental Health Nurse, Practice Physiotherapist and full administrative team. We are an accredited training practice for that provide 6 & 12 month placements for doctors that want to specialise as a GP.
Our multidisciplinary team work in a collaborative and supportive manner.
Previous experience of working in a GP practice in a similar role would be advantageous however not essential.
Skilled in Phlebotomy you will be keen to learn in order to provide a range of services to patients including Blood pressure monitoring, B12 injections, basic reviews following agreed protocols & lifestyle advice.
Supported by our Practice Nurse and other Health Care Assistant you will be part of our nursing service. The ideal candidate will be a team player but someone who is happy to work autonomously. While Phlebotomy skills are essential for the role, we would consider an individual already providing clinical support services if they were willing to undertake phlebotomy training. The practice will provide regular training in order to develop new skills. This post will involve an element of administrative work linked to clinical care where accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
