An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team at The Royal London Hospital

Barts Health is one of the largest NHS trust in the UK, it boasts 3 Emergency Departments, one of which is the Royal London Hospital. We are a major trauma centre and hyper acute stroke unit providing urgent specialist treatment to North East London and beyond. We are an innovative team and work closely with our research colleagues to integrate pioneering, world class care and treatments, developing new pathways and services to provide efficient, patient centred approach to emergency medicine.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and a team player to join our expanding team and services to ensure we can provide safe and compassionate care to patients in the right place at the right time within our Same Day Emergency Care unit (SDEC).

SDEC at the Royal London is a busy unit that is operational Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 8.30pm with the occasional weekend & bank holiday opening hours depending on demand. The unit remains open 24/7 & is staffed by the Emergency Department out of hours.

On Mondays to Fridays, we run Medical, Surgical & Emergency care patient pathways where consultations, evaluations & procedures are carried out. We are constantly working with different specialities within the hospital to develop specialist pathways for our patients, improving the patient experience as well as the flow through our busy Emergency Department.

Within your role, you will assist in providing care & coordinating all patient services that run through this department & ensuring that patient experience, safety & clinical quality are maintained. The role requires working closely with different services internally & externally to Barts Health that provide same day emergency care to their patient groups.

You must have some post registration experience with a broad experience of medical/emergency nursing. You require the skills & abilities to provide high quality clinical care in a fast paced environment. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required.
