The EOC Clinical Hub are looking to recruit experienced operational clinicians into the Clinical Navigator role in the EOC Clinical Hub. The role will be accountable to the EOC Senior Manager (Clinical) but also forms key relationships with the area management teams (EOC Head of Clinical Services, Clinical Workforce Managers and EOC Senior Clinical Leaders) and the wider EOC Team.
Main duties of the jobThe EOC Clinical Navigator will act as the orchestrating clinician providing clinical Navigation to all incidents. The Clinical Navigator will ensure the safety of the waiting patients under the leadership of the EOC Clinical Commander, by reviewing rapidly a waiting 999/111 call to see if suitable for clinical validation or ambulance dispatch.
The Clinical Navigator will also provide clinical support to colleagues in EOC and in operations. The post holder will work with colleagues within EOC to ensure that at the point of contact with the ambulance service patients receive care & advice relevant to their needs. This will be achieved by the timely navigation of incidents for remote clinical consultation, working alongside dispatch to ensure appropriate utilisation of alternative & specialist responders and where appropriate ambulance response.
